Amnesty Homelands
Homelands is an Amnesty International campaign. Because of government funding priorities, Aboriginal people in remote communities are being forced to leave their homelands and settle in larger towns where they loose connections to their culture, family and land – a situation that effectively extends the decades long process of forced assimilation.
Amnesty are campaigning for governments to stop abandoning homelands and to acknowledge Aboriginal people's right to live in their communities without being denied access to essential services.
