New Anthems III

New Anthems III is the final interactive typographic installation commissioned by the Judith Wright Centre for Contemporary Arts.

By inserting words via SMS into iconic Australian texts, participants can play with expressions of national identity. Custom designed sculptural typography use neon, fibre optics, LED displays, recycled cardboard and timber.

The third installation loosely appropriates Banjo Paterson’s Waltzing Matilda: “And he sang as he sat and waited by the billabong”.
